Those sick days.

Have you ever had a sick day and thought "I wish I was better, I can't stand being sick"? Those are the very thoughts I am having today.

Being sick never gets too much hate from me; I enjoy relaxing, watching movies, listening to music, but today I am not feeling it. Nope, I'm not feeling it at all. I'd much rather be spending time with my boyfriend (but he works so boohoo!), or just outside getting fresh air. I hate feeling like I'm stuck indoors, it drives me insane.

But I have warm drinks, movies and music, comfy blankets and nice kitties, and homework to do. I also did the DIY sharpie mug project I wanted to do! (Look here) I didn't have an actual plain, white mug to use so I just wrote on the bottom of one I had. Next time, however, I will be prepared!

So, my dears, you can see how "exciting" my day is going. Sarcasm, I hope you see that it is hidden in that sentence. My mother just called to tell me that she's going to be home from work around three, inviting me to go to my grandparents' house with her if I feel good enough. Right now, I don't feel good at all, but I refuse to be stuck in this house. Guess who's going to chug down lots of medicine? This girl right here!

Hope you're all feeling much better than I am.

Lots of love and happy smiles.

Tonight...

Tonight my boyfriend and I went out for some (real!) Chinese food. It's always so yummy, but their credit card machine-thingie (I honestly don't know the name for it, woops) wasn't working and he had no money on him, and I didn't have enough to pay! So Ian left me in the restaurant for a good fifteen-twenty minutes to find a bank and get money. But once we paid, the night turned back to being good!

We then got in his car and drove to Bell Boulevard. We parked a few blocks away and began to walk the strip of where all the restaurants and bakeries were. I wanted to try this one a few blocks off the strip that I had seen while passing by with my daddy a few weeks back - They have macaroons! However, the bakery was closed.

But before finding out, we went to another bakery instead and thankfully we did! It was crowded and there was a line of people waiting to be seated. Lucky for us, we just got a cupcake and left - Ian is never in any mood to wait for too long of a time, especially around rude people. And in the cold! We got a Blackout cupcake and shared it. It was quite delicious if I do say so myself.

Now I'm tired and filled with good food. It's been long, but great, day. Time to go curl up with a book before bed and read, or listen to some music, or just turn in early. It depends on how I'm feeling!

Lots of love and happy smiles.

Being a New Yorker...

Being a New Yorker has never felt so good as it has the past few days. Seeing what Manhattan holds, the things I have brushed off so easily, makes me so happy. The simple things: The birds, the honking of the cars in the traffic, the people rushing and running to get a cab or onto the bus.

I love Manhattan, especially around the holidays. They have the tree lighting and filling the city with joy. The decorations, the smell of hot chocolate filling the air, the first, light snowflakes falling from the sky. If you didn't know me any better, you'd say I haven't lived here my whole life. The way I am so surprised with how things look, as if they haven't always looked this way for the past years. But it's not like that at all. The sight gets lovelier and lovelier with each passing year, it leaves me breathless.

Yesterday night, my daddy and I drove to the Upper East Side to pick up two bikes for him to fix, from a girl named Melina who was formally on his bike team a few years back. I was taken back by how lovely it looked - It seemed like forever since I was in the city at night, and in a way, it was true. The last time I was in the city at night DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON was, well, last year. It's so beautiful.

Today, I'm going to Long Island with my mom and brother to Broadway Mall. Window shopping is nice, and I'm excited for Macy's. I'm excited to see how this mall decorated the stores!

Have a lovely day and I'll update with  pictures later.

Lots of love and happy smiles.

Hi, hey, hello.

I thought I'd join the club and have my own personal blog! I saw some before that I absolutely fell in love with, along with some I already knew about. I'm excited to be a part of this club.

I also saw some DIY crafts I'm SO HAPPY to be doing soon (hopefully tomorrow) when I go to the store up the block or the mall this weekend!

Lots of love and happy smiles.
